Description

Major Duties / Responsibilities:

Under the general supervision of the Director of Health Services, the Registered Dietician (RD) will provide support and technical assistance to the food service program by planning menus in compliance with the National School Meal Program, evaluating and recommending new food products, design and presenting nutrition classes to Guild community groups. The RD will also consult and monitor nutrition programs and practices in Guild residences.

Essential Functions

  • Ensures the direction of the School Nutrition Program follows all local, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Develops cycle of culturally diverse menus in accordance with the National School Breakfast and School lunch Program.
  • Develop production records that are in accordance with USDA guidelines.
  • Perform nutritional analysis of all menus using computer technology software.
  • Maintain CN label and nutritional analysis files for all purchased food products.
  • Collaborate with the Health Services Department on individual nutrition needs for monitoring, tracking, teaching, and nutritional planning.
  • Act as a member of a multidisciplinary team and participate in team meetings for individual’s nutrition monitoring and oversight.
  • Implementing licensed healthcare provider diet orders for students with prescribed nutrition plans, feeding difficulties and food allergies.
  • Assist Guild School Residential Managers in the implementation of Child Nutrition policies and procedures, especially in areas related to food production records, offer versus serve, recipe compliance, and applicable school nutrition policies.
  • Consult and update the kitchen staff on current federal and state nutrition guidelines.
  • Provide consultation, training, and education on healthy eating to both individuals served and to staff to help support the individual’s served.
  • Serve as a member of the wellness committee
  • Assist in the development of healthy eating and wellness policies and practices.
  • Participate in regulatory audits at the direction of the Director of Health Services.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Director of Health Services.

Qualifications


  • Registered Dietician
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition / Health Sciences or related discipline. School nutrition experience and Master’s degree preferred
  • Training or experience working with Individuals with Developmental Disabilities and/or Feeding issues
  • 2 years’ experience providing nutritional planning, analysis, and consultation
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Valid Massachusetts driver’s license.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
